About the role
Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the CDL Truck Driver will operate vehicles on-site between the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and the landfill, perform inspections, load and unload materials, and maintain accurate logs.
Responsibilities
- Inspect truck by completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water).
- Drive truck to destinations on company property.
- Connect and disconnect hydraulic hoses and electric cables.
- Load and unload truck using hydraulic powered lifts.
- Scale loads both heavy and light.
- Record tickets on daily logs.
- Write up work orders for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Use radio to communicate with other drivers and personnel.
- Maintain assigned vehicle cleanliness inside and out, including blowing out air filters for vehicle and AC units.
- Pick up fallen debris on transportation lanes or notify Supervisor if not feasible.
- Operate equipment safely by obeying all Federal, State, and Local traffic rules and regulations.
- Understand operating procedures for all three load outs (Old Loadout, New Loadout, and 88 Line).
- Actively prevent debris from dropping from trucks due to overfilling.
- Work in a team-oriented fashion to minimize sort stoppage due to full or unavailable trucks, including shifting trucks between loadouts as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including continual use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma preferred.
- 1 year of driving experience, training, or a combination.
- Class A license preferred.
- Must be able to operate Manual Transmission Vehicles.
- Valid CDL is required.
- Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Pay
$30–$33 per hour.
