CDL Truck Driver

About the role

As a Truck Driver in Mirra’s Underground Civil Construction Division, you will perform commercial driving tasks including trenching, excavations, hauling, loading and unloading, back filling, placement of conduits and concrete structures, asphalt paving, concrete work, and general restorations. Work locations include temporary work zones, roadways, sidewalks, and road shoulders.

Responsibilities

• Operate a truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and bituminous paving materials (CDL A required).
• Attach and detach trailers, drive with trailer, load and unload materials and equipment, and properly secure loads.
• Conduct pre-trip inspection checklists on equipment including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Handle paperwork concerning Department of Transportation regulations, freight weigh bills, fuel tickets, and load tickets.
• Follow detailed instructions and directions to job sites, use good judgment in decision-making, and work without direct supervision.
• Participate in job site activities including site setup, general housekeeping, and material handling.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Pass pre-employment random drug screen.
• Pass background and Massachusetts CORI check.
• OSHA 10 certification in construction.
• Valid DOT medical card.
• Massachusetts 2A license required for Massachusetts work; both 2A & 1C preferred.

Pay

Pay is based on experience and skill level with opportunity to negotiate pay rate.
