CDL Truck Driver

About the role

The Truck Driver (CDL) is responsible for completing local and non-local deliveries of MICA Steelworks materials and products. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and minimum 24 Months Of Commercial Driving Experience are required. 3 to 5 years’ experience delivering manufacturing materials and products is preferred.

• Must Possess a Commercial Driver’s License, (CDL) Class A, with good driving record
• Minimum 21-years-old
• No DUI convictions in last 2 years
• No more than 1 preventable accidents in the last 12-month period
• No more than 3 moving violations in 3-year period
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, DOT physical, audiogram, and vision test

Responsibilities

• Loading, driving & unloading delivery trucks
• Receiving, shipping & stocking materials and products
• Securing cargo for transport
• Obtaining receipts and signatures for delivered materials and products
• Completing commercial deliveries – local and overnight
• Reporting all equipment defects or damage, as well as, accidents and traffic violations
• Maintaining a driver’s daily log
• Verifying delivery instructions and routes
• Complying with all state, federal and company regulations
• Performing other duties in the manufacturing plant, as assigned by Plant Manager in the preparation and/or distribution of various deliveries

Working Conditions

The position generally drives but will be asked to perform duties in the manufacturing plant during down time.

Schedule

Local, Monday – Friday with occasional Saturday. Driver will be home daily with occasional overnight 1-2 times a month.
