CDL Truck Driver

About the role

The Truck Driver (CDL) is responsible for completing local and non-local deliveries of MICA Steelworks materials and products. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Loading, driving & unloading delivery trucks
• Receiving, shipping & stocking materials and products
• Securing cargo for transport
• Obtaining receipts and signatures for delivered materials and products
• Completing commercial deliveries – local and overnight
• Reporting all equipment defects or damage, as well as, accidents and traffic violations
• Maintaining a driver’s daily log
• Verifying delivery instructions and routes
• Complying with all state, federal and company regulations
• Performing other duties in the manufacturing plant, as assigned by Plant Manager in the preparation and/or distribution of various deliveries.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 24 Months Of Commercial Driving Experience
• 3 to 5 years’ experience delivering manufacturing materials and products preferred
• Must Possess a Commercial Driver’s License, (CDL) Class A, with good driving record
• Minimum 21-years-old
• No DUI convictions in last 2 years
• No more than 1 preventable accidents in the last 12-month period
• No more than 3 moving violations in 3-year period
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, DOT physical, audiogram, and vision test.

Work Schedule and Location

Local, Monday – Friday with occasional Saturday. Driver will be home daily with occasional overnight 1-2 times a month. The position generally drives but will be asked to perform duties in the manufacturing plant during down time. Work Location: In person.
