Key Responsibilities
- Drives a commercial truck along designated routes to collect waste and transport it to disposal facilities.
- Maintains company policies, procedures, and safety standards while on route.
- Mentors and supports other drivers to uphold operational excellence.
- Ensures cleanliness of the truck and customer sites during and after collection.
- Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submits reports.
- Interacts courteously with customers and responds to their inquiries.
- Complies with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B.
- At least 21 years old.
- One year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
- Ability to meet safety-sensitive functions criteria.
- Ability to safely operate a truck and equipment.

- Knowledge of truck components and maintenance.
- Control and maneuvering skills, especially in tight spaces.
- Recognition of hazardous materials.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Reading, writing, comprehension, and map reading skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes.
- Physical strength for lifting and carrying objects.
- Coordination and visual acuity.
- Compliance with company safety policies.
Physical/Mental Demands
- Standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and smelling.
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus vision.
- Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Sitting for up to 75% of the time.
- Working in loud environments.
Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to loud noise, humidity, rain, extreme temperatures, moving machinery, vibrations, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Outdoor work up to 100% of the time.
- Continuous route work away from branch locations.
- Occasional work in high precarious places.
- Constantly working in motor vehicle traffic.
- Usually loud work environment.
