Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized and safe manner
- Understand shot rates for the correct application of asphalt surface
- Complete pre and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure that all D.O.T. standards are met (i.e. air brakes, oil, water, tire inflation, proper lighting permits, safety kit, electronic logging device, etc.)
- Perform maintenance on assigned truck as required
- Record any maintenance issues in electronic logging device and ensure supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns
- Process required paperwork throughout the day (time reporting, truck reports, scale tickets)
- Be prompt and on time for work
- Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and management
- Work out of town, days, nights and overtime including weekends as needed
- Additional duties assigned by management
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of spreader (distributer, boot) truck driver experience
- Must possess a Class A CDL or greater with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements for a minimum of 3 years
- Must have a valid D.O.T. medical card and good DMV record
- Mechanical background and skills
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Travel and work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed
