CDL Spreader Operator

About the role

Pavement Preservation Group (Cactus Asphalt, Southwest Slurry Seal, Viking Construction, and American Pavement Preservation) is seeking experienced Spreader Operators to join our team. We are the result of merging four leading asphalt preservation and repair companies into one powerhouse.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Understand shot rates for the correct application of asphalt surface
• Complete pre and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure all DOT standards are met (e.g., air brakes, oil, water, tire inflation, proper lighting permits, safety kit, electronic logging device, etc.)
• Perform maintenance on assigned truck as required
• Record any maintenance issues in the electronic logging device and ensure supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns
• Process required paperwork throughout the day (time reporting, truck reports, scale tickets)
• Be prompt and on time for work
• Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and management
• Work out of town, days, nights, and overtime including weekends as needed
• Additional duties assigned by management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of spreader (distributer, boot) truck driver experience
• Must possess a Class A CDL or greater with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements for a minimum of 3 years
• Must have a valid DOT medical card and good DMV record
• Mechanical background and skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Travel and work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed
