Essential Job Responsibilities
- Maintain positive working relationships with everyone.
- Set the standard for safe and efficient operations.
- Work closely with operations and office staff to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective completion of work plans.
- Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper operating condition and communicate any maintenance or repair needs.
- Review load paperwork against cargo received or loaded to ensure accuracy and cargo condition.
- Report problems and issues to the appropriate manager.
- Comply with DOT and State requirements, including FMCSA Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and 29CFR 1910 and 29CFR 1917.
- Secure loads/cargo properly according to Load Securement rules and regulations, and inform the manager of any issues.
- Adhere to all safety and traffic laws.
- Behave professionally at all times and comply with all safety and work-site rules at any customer facility.
- Maintain paperwork and distribute it accurately in a timely manner.
- Communicate with the office and operations staff if delayed in any way.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience and current CDL, Medical Card, & positive DVR.
- Able to safely operate equipment over the road.
- Able to solve problems quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to follow instructions and be available to work varied hours and days.
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, the general public, and customers.
- Able to analyze and troubleshoot operations.
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of load securement rules.
- Able to observe all safety rules and regulations.
Work environment
- Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings, weekends, and nights.
- The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast-moving equipment.
- The ability to drive 100%.
