CDL/Metro Driver

About the role

Dexter is hiring a CDL-A driver for a local/regional flatbed route with consistent miles, steady freight, and a schedule that keeps you home. You’ll primarily run local routes, with occasional regional trips. These are planned in advance—not random dispatch. If you’re looking to get off the long-haul grind and into something more predictable—this is it.

Responsibilities

• Home most nights (only 1 overnight/week – Wednesdays)
• Home every weekend
• Consistent routes (MO, AR, KY, TN, IL, IN)
• Stable, year-round freight
• Pay includes hourly, or miles and drops components
• Well-maintained, reliable equipment
• Automatic day cab
• 26’, 48’, or 53’ flatbeds (no tarping)
• Dedicated routes with familiar customers
• Mix of local + regional runs (predictable lanes)
• No long-haul lifestyle
• Consistent schedule you can plan around
• Respectful dispatch—no surprises
• Steady work (no worrying about miles week to week)
• Deliver trailer parts safely and on time
• Secure loads (flatbed experience helpful)
• Complete logs and delivery paperwork
• Communicate with dispatch on any delays or issues
• Follow DOT and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

• 21+ years old
• Valid Class A CDL
• 1+ year of commercial driving experience
• Flatbed experience preferred
• Clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in last 3 years)
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations
