Responsibilities

• Communicate instructions to students and assess student performance.
• Provide guidance on performing maneuvers on a skills driving range and in the truck on roads during 4 to 12‑hour shifts.
• Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and actual performance abilities that exceed the curriculum objectives.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL License.
• Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking‑related experience that demonstrates instructional competency.
• A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.

Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all laws and regulations covering tractor‑trailer interstate operations.
• Capable of demonstrating the SAGE curriculum subject matter for students.
• Attitude favorable toward performance, assessed by professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety.

Qualifications

• Meet the minimum qualifications for interstate tractor‑trailer drivers per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (including Part 391 physical and driver qualification standards).
• Ability to pass a D.O.T. drug/alcohol screen.
