CDL Highway Maintenance Technician

About the role

DCS (DeAngelo Contracting Services) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CDL Technician to work under close supervision. The position involves a variety of transportation maintenance services including cleaning and clearing culverts, mowing, clearing brush from roadsides, patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders, assisting in storm cleanup, repairing fences, sign repair, litter/debris removal, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, bend, climb, stand, or walk for long periods of time; possess accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or seasonal changes.
• Ability to operate equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Ability to use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
• A high standard of work ethic and commitment toward work.
• Any combination of training or experience that would enable the applicant to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Experience: Class B CDL Required; must be at least 18 years old; must have a valid Georgia driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving record; must demonstrate training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities.
