CDL Equipment Driver - Emergency Response

About the role

Operate a variety of heavy and light-duty trucks/work equipment at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-offs. Perform driving and non-driving duties associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed in a team atmosphere.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform manual labor on-site to fulfill customer needs.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial), and federal requirements.
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines, procedures, and environmental health and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including on-call emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• Perform site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and handle hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators must meet facial hair standards.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Commercial driver experience.
• Preferred: Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Preferred: Previous Hazmat experience.
• Preferred: Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Preferred: Previous manual labor experience.

Pay

Recruiting pay range: $26–$28+ hourly or more depending on experience.
