Full-time, non-exempt position in the Trucking business unit. Reports to the Operations Manager; travel required.

About the role

Select Water Solutions’ CDL Driver safely operates a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight. This position builds loads for deliveries, maintains a safe and organized work environment, loads and unloads oilfield equipment, and ensures quality control and safe operations throughout all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure truck is loaded and secured properly.
  • Verify weight of shipment.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance, security, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure truck has proper and current inspections.
  • Comply with all D.O.T. requirements.
  • Maintain driver qualification records and driving records.
  • Keep all paperwork in correct order and document all transactions.
  • Drive courteously when in company truck.
  • Make all deliveries on time while maintaining safe driving.
  • Work with Procurement on all deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Represent the company respectably while in uniform.
  • Load and unload truck as required.
  • Work in yard and field as needed by supervisor.
  • Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor within physical job constraints.
  • Operate tractor trailer and all equipment competently.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Perform assignments effectively to ensure accurate and secure deliveries.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a CDL A driver preferred.
  • CDL A license.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Tanker and HazMat endorsement preferred.
  • Meet all Federal Motor Carrier D.O.T. requirements and safety qualifications.
  • Current D.O.T. medical card.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to read and interpret driving routes, safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to pass D.O.T. pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to work night or weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Detail-oriented due to safety requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a team environment.
  • CDL certification from an accredited driving school and one year of similar driving experience; experience may be substituted.
  • Experience in the energy industry.

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain, extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust.
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to individually lift up to 50 lbs.
