About the role
The Delivery Merchandiser – Small Store Relief CDL is a touch freight position responsible for delivering and rotating stock, merchandising shelves, racks, equipment, and displays to company standards, and working in partnership with the Sales Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Covers open needs of driver team by transporting and unloading products to retail outlets
- Merges all product inside the outlet to company standards
- Works in partnership with the Sales Supervisor to execute the picture of success
- Establishes positive relationships with all customers and provides superior customer service
- Communicates any store level issues to management
- Maintains rapport with customers
- Collects any breakage or out-of-date product, including empty shells and pallets
- Accurately accounts for all cases and customer transactions
- Maintains backstock in an organized manner
- Keeps coolers, racks, and shelves clean
- Aids in training, coaching, and succession planning of any delivery merchandisers trainees
- Builds strong relationships with the customer base across assigned customers
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years old
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- The ability to maintain DOT physical requirements
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively in fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to self-motivate and able to perform job duties with minimal supervision
