Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate lodge shuttle vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Transport guests and employees between Glacier Bay Lodge, the airport, and ferry terminal according to established schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, and trip logs.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to management.
- Provide a warm, professional, and courteous experience for all passengers.
- Aid guests with luggage, mobility needs, and boarding as required.
- Share basic information about Glacier Bay Lodge and the surrounding area to enhance guest experience.
- Handle guest questions or concerns with professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
- Track and report fuel usage for shuttle vehicles.
- Support transportation logistics by adhering to daily schedules and communicating delays or changes.
- Assist with coordination of guest arrivals and departures to ensure smooth lodge operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of shuttle vehicles, both interior and exterior.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and no airbrake restrictions.
- Minimum of 23 years of age.
- One year of verifiable CDL driving experience.
- No suspension of driving privileges for moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
- Prior experience in passenger transportation, hospitality, or tourism preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Personal attributes: Friendly, approachable, and safety-conscious. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse guests. Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to guest satisfaction. Adaptable to changing schedules and seasonal demands.
