CDL Driver - Class B/Part-Time

Summary

CDL Truck drivers are responsible for providing excellent customer service while safely delivering goods to homeowners or professional job sites. The position requires a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and proficiency in operating heavier equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver merchandise to homeowners and job sites using company equipment.
• Unload material at destination utilizing best means of unloading based on site characteristics, type of material, and available personnel.
• Possess complete knowledge of local delivery routes and terrain to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Address customers or job site representatives politely and professionally.
• Afford assistance with load building, delivery preparation, yard and warehouse maintenance, and unloading incoming freight.
• Complete and document daily and weekly maintenance checklists to ensure safe operation of company equipment.
• Follow company procedures for job site pick-ups, refunds, and handling paperwork, cash, credit cards, or checks.
• Adhere to traffic laws, speed or weight limits, and other posted directions.
• Maintain delivered inventory to protect against loss and theft.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager or other qualified corporate or platform representatives.

Qualifications

• Possession of an active Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Forklift certification.
• Some truck driving or delivery experience.
• Experience dealing with the public.
• An exemplary driving record.
• Good basic math skills.
• Satisfactory reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Knowledge of building materials and delivery vehicle operation is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to pass any drug tests required by the company or DOT.
• Able to lift and load merchandise weighing up to 100 lbs. for various amounts of time.
• Able to climb ladders and maneuver safely at various locations.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
