CDL Driver Class A

Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding career? Merchants Distributors, LLC (MDI) has openings for Tractor-Trailer Drivers at our Distribution Center in Hickory, NC. We are a tobacco and nicotine free company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers
• Review orders prior to delivery
• Assist with the unloading of trucks
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients
• Deliveries cover PA, OH, MD, KY, WV, VA, TN, NC, SC, GA, FL

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age with an active CDL class A
• Have a clean MVR with no more than 2 tickets and no at‑fault DOT accidents in the previous 3 years
• Have 1 year of verifiable tractor‑trailer driving experience pulling 45‑53 ft. trailers, or have graduated from an accredited Class A CDL truck driving school
• Pass all necessary employment testing (MVR, criminal, drug, DOT physical, job simulation test)
• Possess basic computer skills and excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact well with supervision and co‑workers, be a self‑starter with good organizational skills, and maintain a professional appearance
• Ability to safely assist in unloading pallets using a pallet jack (manual and electric); at some locations handle cases up to 100 lbs
• Ability to complete a proper pre‑trip inspection and pass an onsite backing test
• Must live within a one‑hour commute of the Hickory, NC distribution center

Schedule

• Open schedule up to 6 days per week, including holidays
