CDL Driver - Automated Side Loader (Asheville, NC)

About the role

Join our global team of passionate waste industry professionals. The driver's position is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle and providing prompt and complete collection services.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre- and post-operation checks of a commercial vehicle in line with FCC regulations to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components are in correct operating condition.
• Safely operate commercial vehicles on allocated routes that encompass roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
• Manually and/or automatically operate controls and joystick equipment in compliance with FCC's safety regulations and procedures.
• Engage courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure timely and professional service delivery.
• Continuously monitor the vehicle's status to ensure operational readiness and reduce downtime.
• Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately.
• Maintain departmental productivity standards to ensure all clients are serviced in a timely and effective way.
• Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Class B commercial driver’s license.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
• Must meet all qualifications as defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
• Clearinghouse profile required.
• Garbage/Recycling experience preferred.

FCC is a drug-free workplace. Substance abuse testing is required for both the initial on-boarding procedure and random testing for continued employment.
