CDL Driver

About the role

Class A CDL Driver position located in Hampshire, IL. Full‑time schedule of 10‑12 hours per day, 5 days per week, with possible expanded hours during harvest. Drivers are responsible for operating tractor‑trailer equipment and maintaining it properly to transport material to designated locations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Must have a valid Class A CDL.
• Safely operate a Class A truck to transport material to job sites, possibly during harvest, including driving on uneven or unfinished surfaces.
• Climb up to 10 feet on ladders attached to the truck or fertilizer tank.
• Perform daily maintenance of equipment, such as cleaning the truck inside and out.
• Regularly conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
• Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment on the road and in the yard.
• Tarp loads when needed and verify gates are closed.
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
• Read maps and navigate to new locations.
• Work with minimum supervision, identify issues needing attention, and initiate appropriate action.
• Provide delivery service according to established standards.
• Interact with customers and managers.
• Observe speed limits and obey D.O.T. regulations.
• Maintain driving records.
• Utilize Samsara equipment, including forward and rear‑facing cameras.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL and Federal Medical card.
• Pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience driving with a CDL.

• Ability to work independently and initiate action.
• Mechanical aptitude for daily equipment maintenance.
• Physical ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet.

Paid by the load; earnings vary but average around $55,000–$80,000 per year.
