CDL Driver

About the Role

The CDL Driver at SRS ensures safety and timely delivery of building materials to job sites, verifies inventory, follows safety protocols, and maintains high service standards. The role supports operational efficiency and fosters strong customer relationships through professionalism, teamwork, and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and verify inventory accuracy.
• Ensure secure, damage‑free deliveries and document deliveries with photos per company policy.
• Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards and collaborate with customers for material placement.
• Load and unload materials (up to 100 lb) using forklifts or manually.
• Operate forklifts/Moffett’s safely.
• Work in varied weather, noisy environments, and read job‑related documents in English.
• Maintain high service standards and respond promptly to customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brakes endorsement and a clean driving record.
• 18 years of age or older (21 years for interstate/hazmat routes).
• Pass background checks, drug tests, and E‑Verify; FMCSA Clearinghouse verification required.
• 1–2 years of relevant commercial driving experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hazmat endorsement.
• Strong vehicle maintenance skills.
• Experience with multi‑drop deliveries.
• Familiarity with fleet management systems.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Multilingual abilities (a plus for customer communication).

Certifications

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or CDL B) with Air Brakes endorsement (required).
• Current DOT Medical Certificate (required).
• Forklift Certification (preferred).
• FMCSA Registration (required).
• Demonstrated compliance with DOT/OSHA safety regulations.

Working Conditions

• Long hours and fast‑paced schedules.
• Travel within a 200‑mile radius; no overnight stays.
• Varied weather conditions.
• Occasional yard support duties.
• Requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
