Responsibilities
- Obtain customers’ signatures upon completion of each delivery
- Ensure that the freight is properly secured for transportation
- Notify management of any freight damage sustained during transportation
- Check oil, water, fuel, tires, hydraulic system, etc., and make appropriate adjustments to ensure vehicle is in proper operating condition prior to leaving for job site
- Drive various types of vehicles including tractor/trailer combination, tractor/VAC trailer combination, tractor/drilling rig combination, dump truck, 5th wheel gooseneck with pickup, and operate forklift, boom lifts & backhoe as needed to load and unload
- Operate winch truck to move mud systems and subframes
- Responsible for safe operation of a commercial vehicle to comply with all DOT rules
- Maintain records on materials hauled to job sites & submit to proper personnel required
- Record must include correct reporting to EROAD system
- Carefully plan routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner
- Promptly report any traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management
- Notify Management and customers of any delay that may affect scheduled delivery times
- Assist in the loading and unloading of freight into and off the company truck
- Ensure that the truck is labeled with the correct placards when transporting hazardous materials or oversized cargo
- Pass background check and receive Hazmat and tanker endorsements
Qualifications
The driver must be physically fit, have attention to details, and possess a valid CDL with appropriate endorsements.
Skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with management, customers, DOT officials, and others.
