About the role
Curtis Lane Equipment is seeking a Heavy Haul CDL Driver to join our team. This position offers local truck driving opportunities without nights or weekends, delivering Bobcat equipment to job sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate and safely drive assigned vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 lbs.
- Ensure trailer hitch and tractor unit are properly and securely attached, operating effectively.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the rig, including the use of spray washers, grease, oils, detergents, and other tools.
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy machinery and load/unload goods at selected destinations.
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
- Track and report working hours.
- Obeys all applicable traffic laws and drives according to weather and road conditions.
- Complies with ICC and DOT regulations.
- Maintains safety as a top priority at all times.
- Performs light yard duty and maintenance of the fleet.
- Gauges fuel and other meters and documents as necessary.
- May provide additional assistance in meeting customer and business needs.
- Uses general knowledge of basic tools used in the course of business.
- Anticipates needs and initiates solutions that have collaborative buy-in.
- Maintains solid understanding of maintenance requirements and follows best practices to assure readiness.
- Accountable for maintaining adherence to company policies and regulations related to service delivery.
- Maintains up-to-date training/knowledge on best customer service practices.
- Maintains daily work flow, coordinates schedule based on customer and business needs, anticipates opportunities, and uses agility to meet expectations and efficient time management of self and team.
- Uses strategic thinking to problem solve and assure efficient work productivity.
- Must successfully maintain a high level of customer service/customer satisfaction as well as build customer relationships ongoing.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid driver's license/Class A CDL which covers combination vehicles with a gross combined weight of 26,001 pounds or more (towed unit weighing 10,000 pounds or more) and clear driving record.
- Clear background and drug screen.
- Excellent communications (verbal, listening, written, and presentation).
- Prior customer service and experience handling equipment/machines highly desirable.
- Ability to anticipate concerns, troubleshoot, and resolve to complete satisfaction.
- Collaborative and positive approach with team and customers.
- Strong organization and attention to detail as well as strong understanding of business management principles.
- Ability to prioritize and perform efficiently.
- Pose high level of confidence and transparency in sharing knowledge, advice to customers.
- Ability to adapt to new information or changes and creates processes and systems to improve workflows.
- Comfortable with ambiguous information and confident in handling and resolving conflict.
Physical/Sensory Needs
- May lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs at a time frequently, using assistance as needed.
- Requires walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, using required safety measures.
- Uses keyboards, monitors, and computers, phones, copy machines and other business equipment as well as tools/machinery requiring vision, listening, mathematical aptitude also hand/eye coordination and finger hand dexterity as well as use of legs, feet, arms, hands, fingers in operating machinery.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, remaining seated, driving for a large part of work schedule.
