About the role
Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor trailer combination or other truck to transport and deliver products or materials in loose or packaged form.
Responsibilities
- Drives truck to destination.
- Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Maintains driver log according to DOT and I.C.C. regulations.
- Affords assistance to workers in loading and unloading truck.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Practices the highest level of responsibility and safety.
- Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product while continuously striving for improvement in all materials processes.
- Operates forklift.
- Cleans and performs operator maintenance on assigned equipment and responsible for maintaining a quality work environment including good housekeeping (i.e. 5S).
- Develops and adheres to the policies, procedures and instructions of the MMOG and ISO 14001 systems.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Oklahoma Commercial Drivers License.
Physical Demands
- Regularly sits;
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds;
- Occasionally climbs or balances and stoops, kneels, or crouches;
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts;
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and vibration;
- Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
