Responsibilities
- Transports and unloads products to customers along assigned route (non-touch freight position)
- Communicates any store-level issue to management
- Complies with DOT rules for driving purposes
- Maintains rapport with customers and provides superior customer service
- Works with a handheld device
- Establishes positive relationships with all customers
- Provides feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities
- Collaborates with all functional team members
- Safeguards company assets
- Collects breakage, out-of-date product, empty shells, and pallets
- Ensures accurate accounting for all cases and customer transactions
- Ensures proper care of product, equipment, and route settlement daily
- Builds strong relationships with customer base across assigned customers
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years old
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License required; obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat, professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company-provided resources and technology
- High school diploma or GED; or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to operate a manual or motorized pallet jack
Physical Requirements
Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Safety-toed shoes are required when performing tasks such as operating powered industrial equipment, working with palletized product, using hand trucks/dollies, cooler services, etc.
