Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure all applicable rigging meets safety requirements and Sterling Crane standards during the precheck process.
- Haul materials and equipment between job sites.
- Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
- Guide and position loads as necessary at elevated heights.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification - preferred.
- 3+ years previous experience as a rigger.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Successfully pass post-offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
- Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, measurements, equipment capacity limitations and weight limits.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
- Previous experience using crane hand signals.
- Team player who has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
- Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65lbs.
- Most be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects/materials.
- Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
