Job Summary

The 4‑Day Workweek CDL Class A Driver (LTL) drives a tractor‑trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and large shipments.

Hours and Pay

Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM until completion of route; day off varies based on business needs (evaluated monthly). Voluntary overtime on weekends as needed, paid at time‑and‑half after 40 hours per week. Starting wage $23.00‑$27.00 per hour based on experience. Includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for CDL Class‑A drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre‑trip inspection and submit pre‑trip form; complete mileage and maintenance forms.
  • Deliver palletized freight timely to customers and pick up freight from shippers.
  • Verify load‑related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collect payment for shipments as needed and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
  • Maintain all required DOT and company safety certifications.
  • Wash exterior of tractor and equipment daily.
  • Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to operate a manual transmission.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
  • Good customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.

Education and Experience

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid CDL Class A license with a good driving record meeting company standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
  • Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
