About the role

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and have expanded throughout the Midwest. The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre‑trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre‑trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers
• Verify all load‑related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
