About the role

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) drives a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and large shipments. $10,000 sign-on bonus available.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM start until route completion
  • 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per week

Pay

$23.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are operational
  • Complete and submit pre-trip form, mileage, and maintenance forms
  • Deliver palletized freight on time and pick up freight from shippers
  • Verify load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Collect payment for shipments as needed and return bills of lading to the office
  • Maintain all DOT and company-required certifications and safety policies
  • Wash tractor and equipment exterior daily
  • Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick-up as needed

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record that meets company standards
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission
  • Possess or ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
  • Pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
  • Pass a criminal background check

Skills

  • Good customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Full range of motion with no restrictions on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, or walking
  • Ability to handle all types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
