CDL Class A Delivery Driver - No Experience Needed

About the role
This is an entry-level driver training role. The driver trainee learns to drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on interstate, local, regional, and overnight routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products. The role involves communicating professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers while adhering to company policies and DOT regulations.
Schedule
- Home daily
- Four-night work week (dispatch between 8:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.)
- Weekly minimum guarantee of $1,450 (equivalent to $80,000 – $90,000 per year)

Responsibilities
- Attend and complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program
- Ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries
- Perform pre/post-trip safety checks and inspections of tractor/trailer per DOT regulations and company standards
- Report safety issues, hazards, or needed repairs
- Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Verify customer invoices and perform count checks of loaded items
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
- Deliver customer orders according to route schedules
- Unload products, transport items to customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks
- Obtain customer signatures and collect payments where required
- Load customer returns and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked/secured at all times
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork
- Maintain daily records of hours of service and log entries per DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock, and trailers
- Secure equipment and complete end-of-shift paperwork
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Internal PFG candidates: 1 year of service in good standing, ability to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card
- External entry-level hires: 0-6 months with a CDL
- Valid CDL A
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Pass post-offer drug test and road test
- Valid or attainable DOT Health Card
- Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move product cases/freight (60–90 pounds)
