$30/hourPOSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Transportation Director, drive a school bus or van for the youth education services; maintain and manage School Bus, Van and Monitors.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safely and effectively operate a school bus on assigned school or trip-related routes
- Drive for Y-AIM evenings.
- Follow and help enforce all city, state, and federal regulations around vehicle operations and the transport of students, members, or participants.
- Completes thorough pre-and-post trip checks each day and record all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms.
- Cleans out bus each day.
- Promotes safety by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
- Ensures that bus rules are announced and followed.
- Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor.
- Attend all training and in-services around safety, vehicle operations, and staffing.
- Serve as a mandated reporter within our transportation operations.
- Ensure the safety of youth on the bus in conjunction with the bus monitor(s) assigned to their vehicles.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School or equivalent.
- CDL B license with an "S" Endorsement (must remain in good standing and meet all training, physical, and federal requirements as a condition of employment).
- 7D license accepted if working towards CDL.
- First Aid, AED, CPR certified.
- A satisfactory driving record and ability to demonstrate defensive driving.
