About the role
The Delivery Driver transports products to and from customer locations, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries. In addition to driving commercial vehicles such as box trucks and flatbeds, this role includes assisting with order picking and warehouse tasks.
Key performance indicators: order accuracy, timely delivery, customer satisfaction, and maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport products from the branch to customer locations, ensuring on-time deliveries and proper handling of goods.
- Perform routine inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, report any issues, and maintain cleanliness.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery notes, customer signatures, and any additional required paperwork.
- Load and unload products, ensuring all items match delivery paperwork and are secured for transport.
- Assist with picking and packing customer orders accurately from the warehouse to ensure efficient branch operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations to ensure safe driving and adherence to company safety policies.
- Obtain and maintain required license endorsements and certifications, including HAZMAT, as determined by the company.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for DOT and CDL drivers, including proper vehicle maintenance, load security, and compliance with traffic laws.
- Assist with various warehouse duties such as receiving, stocking products, picking and packing orders, inventory management, and general warehouse maintenance.
Requirements
- Experience in a warehouse environment.
- Experience driving delivery vehicles (box trucks, vans, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) regularly.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude during customer interactions.
- Willingness to assist with warehouse operations, including order picking, when necessary.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CDL B license.
Pay
Hourly base pay range: $17.00 – $30.00. Starting pay varies based on geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment.
