CDL-A - Van Truckload Driver Instructor

About the role

Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers. Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck. Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures. Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.

Skills qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's company policies and procedures.

Driver qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• DOT physical card.
• Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience.
• Live within 50 miles of Phoenix, AZ.
