CDL-A - Van Truckload Driver Instructor

About the role

Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers. Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck. Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures. Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• DOT physical card
• Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience
• Live within 50 miles of Phoenix, AZ

Skills

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's company policies and procedures
