Annual average pay: $65,000. Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, starting between 4pm–6pm.

About the role

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and then delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes in a safe and timely manner, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, functioning as a team member within the department and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report all safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Ensure all required route paperwork is with the tractor trailer load and available upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas; ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Ability to work a 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize a two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (60–90 pounds) throughout the shift.
