CDL-A Reefer Driver - Trainees Welcome
About the role
Refrigerated (reefer) freight pays more than dry van and runs year‑round because food moves every month. We’re hiring around Temple, Belton, Killeen, Harker Heights and Copperas Cove; veterans from Fort Cavazos are welcome. You’ll run lanes from Texas to Tennessee, Texas to Illinois, and Texas to Georgia (and back), averaging 1,800–2,000 miles per week out of the Dallas area. Most drivers are home every two weeks. The work involves live loads and live unloads with appointment times to meet, and you’ll earn $25 for each extra stop (instead of the usual $15). The carrier provides an assigned Freightliner tractor (about 1.5 years old on average), automatic or 10‑speed, most with an APU or inverter. Freight is no‑touch – you won’t handle the load.
Responsibilities
- Drive reefer loads on dedicated Texas‑to‑TN/IL/GA lanes, meeting appointment times.
- Manage live loads and live unloads.
- Make extra stops as needed, earning $25
