CDL-A OTR Driver | Paid Training | Home Every 2 Weeks

About the role

Billings drivers operate OTR routes across all 48 states, earning about $1,400 per week. New CDL‑A holders receive paid training with a mentor before running solo in their own truck. The position is based in the Billings, Laurel, Lockwood and Huntley area.

Responsibilities

• Drive OTR routes covering the 48 contiguous states
• Maintain accurate logs and follow trip‑planning procedures
• Perform fueling, vehicle inspections, and basic maintenance
• Practice backing and other skills with a mentor during training
• Communicate with day and night dispatch
• Operate safely in winter conditions and varied weather

Requirements

• Class A CDL issued by your state of residence
• Age 21 or older
• No more than two moving violations in the past 24 months
• No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 10 years
• Pass a DOT physical, hair follicle test, and urine drug screen

Qualifications

• Recent CDL graduate with at least 120 hours of school training, or
• Six months of recent verifiable driving experience

Skills

• Backing and maneuvering a tractor‑trailer
• Log‑keeping and trip planning
• Fueling and basic vehicle maintenance
• Safe driving practices and communication with dispatch

Pay

• Paid weekly during training
• Guaranteed $1,000 per week for the first 3 months of solo driving
• Average earnings of about $1,400 per week once solo
• Approximately 2,000 miles driven per week
• $15 stop pay for each designated stop
• Weekly direct deposit

Schedule

• OTR lanes in all 48 states
• Typically out for about two weeks, then home for a short break
• Day and night dispatch available
• Winter driving is part of the regular operation
