CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide variety of products to customers, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc. They must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records. They may need to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer and deliver various products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule.
• Build relationships with customers through a positive, friendly attitude and familiarity with their operations.
• May need to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Driving record meeting company insurability standards.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer delivery experience preferred.
• 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
• 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks are essential.
