CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide range of products to various customer locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. They also play a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships with customers through their professional demeanor and familiarity with customer operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer to transport various products to customer locations.
• Manually unload and deliver products to customer locations according to the assigned route schedule.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through a friendly and professional attitude.
• Ensure safety and compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
• Handle occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Pass employment testing.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of customer delivery experience preferred.
• At least six months of hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
• At least six months of Food and Beverage experience preferred.
• At least two years of consistent work history preferred.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Proficiency in operating a commercial vehicle and a positive attitude are also important.
