CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide range of products to various customer locations. They must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records. They may also need to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule.
• Build relationships with customers through a positive, friendly attitude and familiarity with their operations.
• Handle product deliveries, including lifting and moving items as needed.
• Ensure safety while operating the vehicle and handling deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with customers and follow their specific needs and expectations.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Driving record meeting company insurability standards.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1 year customer delivery experience.
• Preferred 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience.
• Preferred 6 months Food and Beverage experience.
• Preferred 2 years consistent work history.
