CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver
Job Summary
Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.
About the Role
Our drivers are responsible for building strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high safety standards. They also handle various products ranging from meats and produce to frozen foods and dry goods.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule.
- Build relationships with each customer using a positive, friendly attitude and familiarity with their operations.
- Ensure timely and safe deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.
- Handle various products ranging from meats and produce to frozen foods and dry goods.
- Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Pass employment testing.
- Must have the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Preferred 1 year customer delivery experience.
- Preferred 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience.
- Preferred 6 months Food and Beverage experience.
- Preferred 2 years consistent work history.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, physical strength to lift and move product, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
