CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide variety of products to customers, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc. They must be able to read and speak English to communicate with customers and understand traffic signs and signals. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently
• Manually unload/deliver various products to customer locations
• Build relationships with customers through a positive, friendly attitude
• Be familiar with customer operations to meet their needs and expectations
• Handle product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly
• Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
• Driving record meeting company insurability standards
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year customer delivery experience preferred
• 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred
• 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred
• 2 years consistent work history preferred

Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle physical labor are essential.

Qualifications

• Pass employment testing
• Must have the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently
• Must have the ability to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language
• Must be able to respond to official inquiries
• Must be able to make entries on reports and records
• Must have the ability to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly
