Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to customers. They must be able to handle a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, communicating with customers, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a tractor-trailer to transport various products to customer locations.
  • Load and unload products from the truck using manual labor as needed.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of customer delivery experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of Food and Beverage experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of consistent work history preferred.

Skills

Successful candidates should possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with basic computer skills is also beneficial.
