CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver
Job Summary
Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.
About the Role
Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide range of products to various customer locations. They must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records. They also need to have the flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently
- Manually unload/deliver various products to customer locations
- Build relationships with customers through positive, friendly interactions
- Be familiar with customer operations to meet their needs and expectations
- Lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- Driving record meeting company insurability standards
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Requirements
- 1 year customer delivery experience preferred
- 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred
- 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred
- 2 years consistent work history preferred
