CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver
Job Summary
Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.
About the Role
Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide variety of products to customers, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc. They also build relationships with each customer, ensuring they understand their operations and meet their needs and expectations.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule.
- Build relationships with customers using a positive, friendly attitude.
- Be familiar with customer operations to meet their needs and expectations.
- May need to lift, push or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
- Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Driving record meeting company insurability standards.
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Preferred 1 year customer delivery experience.
- Preferred 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience.
- Preferred 6 months Food and Beverage experience.
- Preferred 2 years consistent work history.
Skills
Positive, friendly attitude, flexibility, and the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
