CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver
Job Summary
Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.
About the Role
Our drivers are responsible for delivering a wide variety of products to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining high safety standards. They also play a crucial role in building strong relationships with customers through regular communication and service.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer to transport various products to customer locations.
- Manually unload/deliver products to customer locations according to the assigned route schedule.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through regular communication and service.
- Ensure all deliveries are made safely and on time.
- Handle occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Pass employment testing.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Requirements
- 1 year customer delivery experience preferred.
- 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
- 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred.
- 2 years consistent work history preferred.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
- Must have the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
Skills
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency with basic computer skills is also beneficial.
