About the role
The Road Driver is responsible for the pickup and delivery of cargo trailers over long distances, including uncoupling trailers from tractors.
Responsibilities
- Perform tractor/trailer inspections, setup, check-in, and cargo pickup/delivery.
- Drive for extended periods, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
- Maintain compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
- Operate equipment that is modern, air-conditioned, and equipped with power steering.
- Participate in preventive maintenance programs.
- Adhere to varying shift schedules, including days, nights, and weekends.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training may be available for less).
- Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Safe driving record and stable work history.
- Ability to pass DOT drug screening and medical requirements.
