About the Role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, while building lasting relationships with our customers. This position involves a combination of solo and team routes with out-of-state layovers twice per week.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required; follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures; collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked/secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A with interstate license (no K restrictions).
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
  • Valid/current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move product cases/freight weighing between 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Pay

Weekly minimum $1,540 when on route. Newer trucks/equipment, all automatics, ramp work, touch freight, and breakdown mixed pallets.
