About the Role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, while also serving as the face of our company and building lasting customer relationships. This position involves driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries.

Routes are a combination of solo and team routes with out-of-state layovers twice per week. Must have an interstate license (no K restrictions). Weekly minimum pay of $1,540 when on route. Equipment includes newer trucks (all automatics), ramps, touch freight, breakdown mixed pallets.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to answer questions accurately and timely.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip inspections) according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Report safety issues, hazards, or required repairs immediately.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company safe driving guidelines, and policies.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly (e.g., logs, delivery records, damage reports).
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined schedules; unload products and transport items into designated storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and follow company policy for removing orders.
  • Verify deliveries with customers and obtain proper signatures; collect payments (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are always secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, remove trash from trailers, and maintain cleanliness of tractor, trailer, and loading dock.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and logs in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and secure all equipment at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
  • Valid/current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Pay
