About the role
Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or needed repairs.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly, including freight documentation and logs.
- Move tractor to loading dock, attach preloaded trailer, and drive to customer locations according to the predetermined route delivery schedule.
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas; perform damage control checks and report issues according to company policy.
- Verify delivery of items with the customer, obtain proper signatures, and collect payment (cash or checks) where required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork, and perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailer.
- Complete daily records of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
- Valid CDL-A and must be 21+ years of age.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
- Attain or hold a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new one.
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–90 pounds) throughout the shift.

Pay
Get paid for every stop, load, and mile during your workday! ($75,000 to $85,000 a year)
Schedule
Sunday–Thursday (4 days on + 1 day on-call). Dispatch times vary depending on shift.
