CDC Environmental Health Readiness, Response, and Recovery Fellowship

About the role

This research opportunity is available in the Coordinating Office for Environmental Readiness, Response and Recovery (COER3) within the National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), located in Atlanta, Georgia. COER3 is CDC's focal point for science-based emergency management related to the environmental public health consequences of natural disasters, chemical, and radiation emergencies.

Learning objectives

This training will include emergency management protocols, tools, and resources, researching peer reviewed publications, environmental health interventions, emergency response activations and disaster exercises, and coordination and evaluation of program development strategies. In addition, you will receive training related to coordinating and collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders on environmental public health and emergency management projects, initiatives, and activities.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate should have received a master's degree in one of the relevant fields, or be currently pursuing the degree with completion before August 31, 2026. Degree must have been received within the past five years.

Preferred skills

• Master's in Environmental Health or Public Health, preferably with a focus on environmental health and/or disaster management
